At last!

I took this photo many, many years ago.   Friesian cows, Arrum lilies,  Heather and a row of cottages, with the splendour of the Tsitsikamma mountain range as backdrop

The search for this photo led me down memory lane, scattered with negatives, floppy and stiffy disks, faded photo albums, and finally  a box filled with real photographs.  It took me on a tour of South Africa, from the Free State, through Port Elizabeth, all along the Garden Route, then down to the Winelands, to settle in Wilderness, where Mandy was living those days.   I relived many Christmases, in PE and WP, and a very lonely Christmas in Taiwan, my first ever without any of my children.   Boxing day, the day of the tsunami, I was on my scooter on Bagua mountain, taking photos of the beautiful poinsettia trees in full bloom.   When I got back late afternoon and handed in the spools of film, the photo shop guy barely looked at me.   He was glued to his television, watching the devastation of the tsunami.   I was blissfully unaware of the tragedy.

This photo is a testament to the unbeatable quality of my Canon Eos camera, compared to a digital camera.   Unfortunately I had to take a picture of the photo (with my digital camera) to post it here.   Maybe I should start using a real camera again.
