Add glorious sunsets to the heady mix above to get an inkling of the stir of emotions I felt as the bus snaked its way along this beautiful coastline.    I saw a woman standing waist-deep in the still ocean, her arms stretched out, soaking up the sunshine and view.    Fathers and mothers were taking a walk on the beach with their children.   The cafes were full of sun-worshippers sipping their wine, smoking, drinking coffee.   And it's supposed to be winter!

We arrived at the Cape just as the sun was setting.   I didn't want to listen to our guide, Joy, telling people the obvious things that anyone could google, so I left the group and went straight to the top for a last photo.   The wind was cold now.   I rushed back to the cozy cafe, got a bottle of St George red (Agiorgitiko) and watched the sunset. feeding the little sparrows some of the pretzel-bagel like snacks that are sold on every corner in Athens.

On the way back we sped past beautiful rock formations, olive groves and vineyards.   I felt sad when I saw the empty restaurants, all lit up, waiters waiting for customers that may never come.
