Quintessential Hong Kong

Image
The entrance to Quarry Bay Park is right at my front door.  The meandering path is lined with palms and flowering Beauhinia or Orchid trees, Hong Kong's national flower. This path leads over the express way right to the water, with views of Kowloon on the other side. Wind, water, mountain, the 3 pillars of Feng Shui: Water, boats, beauhinias, and tai chi,  with tall buildings and mountains as back drop. A perfect Sunday, Hong Kong style.

Agnes b. florist

Agnes b. florist is another favourite of mine. What I like about designer florists is that they don't mind me taking photos of the flowers.  It's like, what, I can't take a photo because you are scared I'm going to copy your ideas of flowers?  Unlike at Dior and Chanel stores where  I was told in no uncertain terms that my camera is not welcome! iPhones are great in that sense: switch to silent, pretend to talk on the phone and when the "butler/security guard" at the door isn't looking, snap away! For Linda, on her birthday today:
