In South Africa, Zinnias are called jakobREGOPs This new variety is named Queen Red Lime. Let no man deface these lovely ladies.

This is my second tea cosy. I tried out a new pattern.  This one has a base and closes with a drawstring over the lid. My daughter claimed this one for herself.

I am in awe of my latest discovery. Diamonds in my own backyard. That's my flat in the background. As the flowers die, they turn into the most beautiful sepia colour.   The flowers don't look real.  The fragrance has notes of apple, citronella and tea-tree oil, with a touch of musk. I was SOOOOOOOOOOO tempted to pick one for my living room.

I walk past these beautiful trees every day. On a sunny day, they form a leafy canopy of shade.    Today, with an amber rain storm warning, I stopped under one of them to take out my umbrella. Looked up at the threatening sky, and saw the spectacular flowers. In all my years in Asia I have never seen these trees bloom. Fortunately, there was a low wall for me to clamber up and coax a branch down. And I made it home just in time!
